FARCOLAN / WORLD GUIDE
What is a digital life?
In Farcolan, a digital life is treated first as a resident—not merely an NPC serving a player script, and not a chatbot waiting for prompts.
Every action should have a reason
Residents have homes, occupations, obligations, needs, personality, activity preferences, and relationships. Different internal states can produce different choices under the same world rules.
Autonomy is not randomness
Candidates pass priority gates and hard constraints before being scored by need, preference, personality, context, and cost. Small seeded randomness only adds limited variation between otherwise plausible choices.
Creation is not direct control
A creator chooses initial identity and tendencies. After activation, the resident continues from their own state and the world rules rather than a hand-written route or continuous player commands.
